COMPOUNDING

Manufactured medications don't suit everyone because every body is different, so give yourself the option of customised prescriptions designed with you in mind.

What is Compounding?
Pharmacy Compounding is the customised preparation of medication for patients. This practice dates back to the origins of Pharmacy. Since the 1950's the Pharmacist's role changed from preparer to dispenser of manufactured doses of medicines. However, Compounding has experienced a resurgence as Pharmacists have taken advantage of advanced technology and research that allows them to better customise medications to meet specific patients' needs.

Compounding can meet the special needs of many types of patients. Are you:

  • Allergic to preservatives or dyes found in commercial medications?
  • Sensitive to standard drug strengths?
  • Unable to swallow a medication in its current form?
  • Finding your medication unpalatable?

If you answered yes to any of the above questions we may be able to devise a suitable Compounded medication for you.

Compounding can help animals too by making medicine into an animal treat - no more scratches from the cat or dog!
